Lord, Please Order My Steps in Your Word

Over the last several months, I’ve thought about these words a lot, “Order My Steps, in thy [Your] Word; and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” (KJV). A memory came to mind. When we worshiped in Milton and my mom would come to Boston to visit during the summer, she enjoyed her time at the church building.  As I would park in front of the building, a kind and patient younger brother would always be waiting near the door for her arrival. When he saw us parking, he would walk down the front stairs, open the car door, patiently let her exit the vehicle, and lovingly have her hold his arm while they walked up the stairs and into the building.  He stood close to her, and she leaned her weight on him. He slowed his pace and made sure her steps were secure.  By his side, my mom felt confident she would not fall. There are parallels between this story and the ‘Order My Steps’ passage.

Why does the psalmist say, “Order my steps in your Word; and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” Psalm 119:133.  What does it mean and how do we do it?

The LBC, as we start on February 9th, will begin our season with this discussion titled, “Lord, Please Order My Steps in Your Word”. It will be a two-part study. You will be prepared for this Sunday’s discussion if you read Psalm 119:133 from several different translations and commit this verse to memory from the translation you use the most.

On February 23rd and March 9th Leslie will facilitate a two-part study on, “Now is the Time to Appreciate the Gift of Time and Focus on your Faith. On March 23rd, Lynne will return with the 2nd part of the study on “Order My Steps in Your Word”.

Based on the survey many sisters completed when asked, “What topics would you like us to consider for the LBC in 2025”, good, godly, and strong women of the Bible emerged in various ways.  This series will follow around April/May and continue for a few months.  We will see you at 4:50 pm this Sunday, February 9, 2025, in the LBC – (Ladies’ Bible Class), and bring a friend.  ~Lynne
