If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave. Matthew 10:14
In U.S. presidential politics, most states give their electoral college votes to the candidate receiving the most votes from state residents. Some states, however, are so heavily weighted to one side or the other that opposing candidates spend little time courting voters because this would be a waste of their resources.
Time, energy, and money are finite, and it’s your job as the leader to waste as little of them as possible.
Marginal programs and products are the most obvious culprits, but the biggest drain is from people who refuse to listen.
Jesus told his disciples not to stay and keep preaching where they weren’t welcome. There was only so much time, and he didn’t want them to waste it.
What should you do about that handful of people who are constantly dragging your team down? What about potential customers who always have a reason for not buying? Take a lesson from the disciples and move on.
